Cell-free DNA and noninvasive prenatal testing of fetal blood group antigens
The next webinar on " Cell-free DNA and noninvasive prenatal testing of fetal blood group antigens" will be presented on Wednesday October 9, 2019 at 15:00 CEST by Frederik Banch Clausen.
Frederik Banch Clausen is molecular biologist, working with cell-free fetal DNA since 2004 at the Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark. He participated in the development and implementation of antenatal RHD screening to guide antenatal prophylaxis in RhD negative women. He received his PhD in 2010 and did a higher doctoral thesis in 2016 on the subject of fetal RHD genotyping using cell-free DNA. He is a member of the ISBT Red Cell Immunogenetics and Blood Group Terminology working party and leader of its subgroup on cell-free DNA. Frederik also arranges the biannual meetings on cell-free DNA in Copenhagen.
The webinar talk will give an overview of how cell-free DNA is used for fetal blood group genotyping as part of the care provided for pregnant women in transfusion medicine. The talk will cover clinical background, assay challenges, assay performance, and future perspectives.
Please do not forget to register. ISBT members have received the invitation in their inbox.
